- Do not spin your tires or turn your steering wheel while the car is stationary on fresh asphalt or on a very hot day.
- Clean up gas and oil spills as soon as possible with soap and water. Asphalt is a petroleum based product. Oils, gasoline, diesel fuels and brake fluids act like a solvent, causing the surface to soften and become more susceptible to damage.
- Avoid activities which could result in puncturing of the surface. Examples include jacks, kickstands, lawn furniture, etc.
- It is recommended not to park or drive on your new driveway for 24-48 hrs. after completion, depending on the weather.
